Information for Exhibitors
This year the Fossoway Flower Show is going online. You can view the schedule, register as an exhibitor and download the class registration form.
You will also notice some changes in the schedule too. This year, we have more adverts and thanks to all our advertisers, we are able to continue to produce and offer our scheule for free.
Schedules will also be available at all the usual outlets, Crook of Devon Village Shop, The Fossoway Petrol Station, Powmill Stores and Crook of Devon Village Hall.
Exhibitor Registration now open Online
Exhibitors can now register for exhibitor number online in advance, using our online simple form, just click on the button below to open the form. We will send you an email confirming your exhibitor number.
Once you've got your exhibitor number, you can either download a copy of our Class Registration Form, fill it out and email to secretary@fossowayflowershow.org, then simply pick up your competition labels at the Registration Desk. Online registration will close at 8pm on Thursday 15th August 2024.
Alternatively you can fill out the paper version in our 2024 Schedule, cut it out and hand it in at the Registration desk and pick up your competition labels.
But don't worry if you haven't got your Exhibition number in advance you can still get that at the Registration Desk.
Rules and Regulations
1. The Fossoway & District Horticultural Society is a constituted Society. Copies of the constitution are available on the Society Website, Facebook page or by email from the secretary.
2. Society competitions are OPEN to all. No fee is payable to enter an item for competition. All exhibitors will automatically become members of the Society in the year that they entered.
3. Any person paying a donation to the Fossoway & District Horticultural Society will receive a ticket for free entry into the Annual Flower Show in the year the donation is paid.
4. Vegetables brought forward for competition are required to be in the same condition as when sent to the kitchen or market, but all roots must be washed. Flowers must be cut unless otherwise specified in this schedule.
5. No competitor is allowed to make more than one entry in any one class or exhibit other than the required quantities of any article. Vegetables must be presented for competition on a white paper plate unless otherwise specified in this schedule. No article shall be removed from the room before competition.
6. Each article sent for competition must have a securely attached, sealed exhibitors’ safety competition label (available from the Committee) after entry registration. The label shall contain the competitor’s exhibitor number & name and visible on the outside, the number of the class as stated in this schedule. Entries in the children’s classes must also include the Child’s age on the label.
7. Any competitor competing with one or more articles, contrary to the real meaning of rules 4, 5 and 6, shall on conviction, be disqualified and all prize money to which the competitor is entitled shall be forfeited. The Committee reserves the right to exercise their discretion over the award of any prize.
8. All specimens, whether for exhibition or competition, must be in the room BY 9.30 am on the morning of the SHOW. The Exhibition will open to the public from 2 pm to 3.45 pm. No article shall be removed from the room prior to the close of the Exhibition unless with the consent of a Committee member. The hall shall be open for staging from 7.30 pm until 9 pm on the evening before the Show.
9. When articles for competition are not worthy, the judges shall withhold a prize, and in all cases the judges’ decision is final.
10. When there is equality in points for point prizes, the number of first prizes shall decide then second prizes and so forth.
11. Prize money will be paid according to schedule if the funds of the Society permit. Winners should claim their prize money from the Treasurer on the day of the Show. Prizes unclaimed at the end of the Show shall be returned to Society funds.
